On March 31st and April 1st 2012, Alvernia Studios near Krakow will host a preview performance of St. Luke Passion, by Krzysztof Penderecki, directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna. The show is being put on on the initiative of the National Audiovisual Institute as part of the summary of the Cultural Programme of the Polish Presidency 2011. The event will accompany the Misteria Paschalia Festival.
What will the new Passion be like, reinterpreted and brought to the stage by Grzegorz Jarzyna? Will it herald the beginning of a successful cooperation between the two giants, Jarzyna and Penderecki?

During the week between 2-9 April, Kraków will once again host some of the greatest stars of Baroque music. The 9th Misteria Paschalia Festival will feature magnificent voices, including Roberta Invernizzi, Vivica Genaux, Josè Maria Lo Monaco, Julia Lezhneva, and Magnus Staveland, and ensembles beloved by the public, such as Europa Galante, Accademia Bizantina, Hespèrion XXI, La Capella Reial de Catalunya, Les Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble, and Ensemble Matheus.

It is the only opportunity to buy the passes at the promotional Christmas price of PLN 700. At Allegro and three points of the InfoKraków city information network (at ul. św. Jana 2, at the Wyspiański Pavilion at pl. Wszystkich Świętych 2 and the Tourist Services Center at ul. Powiśle 11), you can also buy special passes for the 10th Sacrum Profanum Festival (the 9th-15th of September 2012, the price: PLN 500) and publications prepared by the Krakow Festival Office.
